I qualified from the Leeds School of Physiotherapy in 1975 and have worked in hospitals since then rising to the post of Physiotherapy Manager at Ormskirk Hospital.  Since leaving that position at Ormskirk Hospital I have been working freelance at various hospitals and then went full time here at Ling Physiotherapy in December 2001.

Also when I qualified I was working part time for rugby league clubs starting at Batley, then Huyton, Leigh and St Helens.  Whilst at St Helens I was the Physiotherapist to the Great Britain rugby league team at senior and under 21 levels.  After finishing that episode of my career in 1986, in 1987 I became Physiotherapist to the Lancashire Rugby Union under 19’s team and over the next 10 years became the Physiotherapist to the under 21’s and the senior team at Lancashire.  I was also Physiotherapist for about five years at West Park Rugby Union club during this time.

Once I finished with the rugby league in 1986 I commenced here at Ling Physiotherapy part time in the evenings whilst still working at the hospitals.  However the previous owner of this practice died and I bought the practice from his widow who still resides in the house whilst I practice in a separate building in the back garden.

Since the beginning of 2005 I have been teaching on the Football Association’s Treatment and Management of Injuries courses at both levels two and three being an accredited F.A. Tutor, subsequently I have also graduated in July 2007 with my Certificate of Education. 

I am a member of the Acupuncture Assoc. of Chartered Physiotherapists (A.A.C. P.) and Organisation of Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice.(Physiofirst)
